Confidence is something that in today's modern era presents a huge issue to students, with social media and unrealistic expectations playing a significant part in that. However, this feeling is not something we should just settle with and we can do something about it. There's lots of little things we can do to make us feel more put together in our lives which will end up with us having a lot more confidence in ourselves.
1) WORKOUT
I know the thought of a workout is something many of us hate, but have you ever heard somebody say "I feel really shit after I've done that workout"? No me neither. Whether it be cardio, strength or yoga, any form of exercise improves your mental health and therefore improves your self confidence. You may not notice any difference at first visually, but you will certainly feel more alive and energised for the rest of the day. Ideally 20-30 minutes for 3 times a week is what we should be aiming for but something's better than nothing so even if you can fit in a spare 10. minutes, you will feel miles better!
2) BUILD A CAPSULE WARDROBE
Building a capsule wardrobe is something that can be hugely underrated, yet can be good for everyday outfits and learning how to dress them both up and down, ultimately saving you money. If you go out believing you look good in what you''re wearing, rather than just wearing whatever was first in the draw, you will look better and everybody will be able to see the confidence in you. The best places to look for what to add to a capsule wardrobe are Pinterest and TikTok. Just simply type in #capsulewardrobe on any fashion platform and you'll see what to do. 3) PLAN
Although planning may sound a bit random when it comes to confidence, you can't under-estimate the power of being organised, especially when you're at university. Whether it's to do lists, shopping lists, organising your clothes or setting out a work schedule, planning can make you feel put together even when you think your life is falling a part. Also it can quite easily improve the quality of everything you're doing so your never last minute again!
A combination of all these things will leave you never doubting yourself again and if you want to move further onto the best version of yourself why not eat healthier, add accessories to your new outfits and romanticise your life the best you can!
