BAD HABITS that can really effect your bank account as a student.

We all love treating ourselves and getting ourselves out there however as a student needing to save money that may not be the best idea, so i am here to tell you of a few bad habits that need to stop once you become a uni student.

1) Eating out

Frequently eating out can really start to cost you at university. 90% of university students asked in a poll said that eating out was the main source of outgoing while at university. And although that one mcdonalds may not seem expensive to begin with they all tend to add up. While it may seem like a good opportunity to make friends and catch up with old friends, cooking a meal together has all the same appeal at a fraction of the price. check out our other posts that detail the top 3 recipes for any university student if you're struggling with ideas.

2) Buying new clothes

Although new jeans may seem tempting, retail therapy is temporary. hold off on buying clothes that you don't necessarily need while at university. You don't need a new outfit for every lecture that you attend. while it's important to feel good and dressing well is a part of that shopping until your heart is content and will drain a massive amount out of your bank account. try looking for cheaper alternatives such as thrifting or going to charity shops to get some rare finds. Or try to get on the other side of the till and sell your old clothes in order to get cash for new ones.

3) Going into your overdraft

Student bank accounts are the DEVIL. The trap of overdraft is what ruins most students' university experience. spending money which you do not have can be risky and many university students find themselves unable to get out of their overdraft which taints their whole university experience and leaves them with massive amounts of debt no student should have to face. The trick to not having to face this is only using your overdraft in emergencies. They can be tempting and seem welcoming however that may not always be the case. Only spend what you know you can afford.
